Dr. Clyde Ewing Miller, Jr., 84, of Pensacola, died Saturday, September 23, 2000 at his home. Dr. Miller was a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola. He was a member of the McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was a Medical Doctor in Pensacola for many years. Dr. Miller was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and Tulane School of Medicine. He served in the U. S. Army Medical Corp. as a Captain in the European Theater from 1943 to 1946. Dr. Miller served two terms on the Pensacola City Council. He was a member of the Christian Business Committee International. He was also a member of the Escambia County Medical Society, Florida Medical Society and American Medical Association. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Baxter Miller of Pensacola; son, Gerald Miller Ph.D. of Wilmore, Ky.; four daughters, Jeanne McArthur of Savannah, GA, Linda Hopson of Tuscumia, AL, Anne Smith of Fort Worth, TX and Elizabeth Richardson of Baltimore, MD; brother, Dr. Clay Miller or Columbia, TN; 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2000 at McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Charles G. DeBardeleben officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. |
