Jack as he was called was born to Wilamina Drum (father unknown). He served in the Army Air Corps in WWII, but the military decided they didn't need any pilots. He became a gunner in a B-27, but it crashed in the U.S. He was one of the few survivors fo the crash. They had to use an axe to maneuver him out of the plane. He was on the first FSU football team in 1947. Afterwards, he became a contract builder. |
