Burke B. Johnson 75, of Cantonment, passed away at home Friday, August 4, 2000.  He was a lifelong resident of Pensacola and a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.  Mr. Johnson was an inspector on the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo Space Programs and Ground Vehicle Support Systems for Lockheed Missles and Space Program.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II (Korrea) and retired from NARF at Pensacola Naval Air Station.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Johnson.  He is survived by his wife, Edna Johnson; three sons, Burke Johnson II and wife, Tina, of Pace, Christopher Johnson and wife, Alexandra, of Molino and Patrick Dow Johnson of Cantonment; one grandson, Joshua Burke Johnson; three granddaughters, Melissa Weaver, Kristina Johnson and Megan Johnson; and one great-grandson, Shanen Weaver.  Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2000 at the Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church with Father John Cayer officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Paul Pitcher, John Norrell, Wayne Rowell, Mitch Stamatelos, George Riley and Ronnie West.  Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, is in charge of arrangements.  Visitation is Sunday, August 6, 2000 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida.  The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. John Retzlof and Hospice of Northwest Florida for their care and compassion.
