The Rev. Hiram Paul Mathison, age 90, of Pensacola died Thursday, September 14, 2000.  He was born in Skipperville, AL.  He was a member of the Alabama-West Florida United Methodist Conference and served as pastor of several churches in the Pensacola area.  In 1970 he founded the Inter-Faith Jail Ministry at the Escambia County Jail.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Roberta Bryans Mathison and a daughter, Barbara Lee Magnuson.  Survivors include one brother, Charles Mathison; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Virginia Mathison; three grandchildren, Mary Alice Mathison, David Magnuson and Paul Magnuson; four great-grandchildren.  Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2000 at Gadsden Street  United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Rhodes and the Rev. Charles Avey officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2000 at St. John's Cemetery.  Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Family Services, Inc. or Gadsden Street Methodist Church.  The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Three Oak Manor, Sacred Heart Hospital and  Pensacola Care Facility.
