A Dedication to My Mother, "In tears I saw you sinking, and watched you fade away.  My heart was almost broken, I wanted you to stay.  But when I saw you sleeping so peaceful, free from pains, How could I wish you back with me, to suffer over again.  It broke my heart to lose you, but you did not go alone, For part of me went with you on the day God took you home".  Dorothy McLeod McAllister passed away on Saturday, April 10, 1999.  She was 88.  Mrs. Mc Allister lived in Pensacola all of her life, born to Author McLeod and Georgia Perry.  She grew up in the historic home of her grandmother, Mary Perry, in Seville Square.  She attended school here and graduated from RN school at Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in 1931.  She also was a graduate of Florida State University All Women's College.  She was a nurse for Dupont and the administrator for the Escambia County Nursing Home for many years.  She and her late husband also owned the operated the first Toyota dealership in Pensacola, Toyota of Pensacola, until 1980.  She will be greatly missed.  Thanks to the staff of Grand Court and to Hospice of Northwest Florida and to Dr. Prevatt for all the care given to her over the years.  She is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Fred Nye; and two grandchildren, Misty Ann Ewing and Charles L. Morris, along with her great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 13, 1999 at 2 p.m. from Faith Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph C. Grider officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
