Zema D. Shofner, 95, of Marianna died Friday, May 5, 1995, in Jackson Hospital following a short illness.  Mr. Shofner was a native of Mount Pleasant, AL and a former employee of Jackson County Hardward Store, F.C. Daffin Company, Western Auto, and Jordan Hardware Store for many years, and he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Mens Bible Class.  Mr. Shofner was prededed in death by his wife, Thelma McMillan Shofner.  Survivors include three sisters; Elva Gilmer of  Pensacola, Mae Strickland of Columbus, GA and Florence Jakes of Montgomery, AL; two brothers, James Tallie Shofner of Pace and Woodrow Shofner of Pensacola; and a number of nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8 in the First United Methodist Church of Marianna with the Rev. Judd Stinson and Mrs. Sue Crooms officiating.  Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in St. John's Cemetery in Pensacola.  James and James Funeral Home-Maddox Chapel of Marianna is in charge of the arrangements.  The family requests that flowers please be omitted and contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church of Marianna.
