From Journal Thursday August 10: “Thomas Jefferson (Tom) Starling Jr., 74, …died Monday August 7, 2000...native of Troy, Alabama…resided in Pensacola since 1943...WWII veteran…survivors: wife Wylda Evans Starling; daughter and son in law Sheryl and Thomas Kennedy III; grandson Thomas Selles Kennedy IV; granddaughter Mallory Starling Kennedy; sister Barbara Neal of Montgomery, and Ola Jeanne Chesser of Ariton, Alabama…Water & Hibbert directing.”  He is buried in the W.A. Evans family plot.  Next to Thomas J. Starling is an unmarked grave.  I was told it was his wife Wylda Starling, that died between 2009 and 2010.  She was the daughter of William A. Evans and his wife Ola Mayo.
