Ralph Wallace Swanson, 1919-2001, age 82, died Monday, December 24, 2001, in a local hospital.  Mr. Swanson was born September 28, 1919 in Ohio.  He was a life-long resident of Pensacola and a member of Brentwood United Pentecostal Church.  Ralph enlisted in the US Army on June 17, 1942, served in General George Patton's Third Army with the 547th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion in the Rhineland and Central Europe, and was discharged on December 12, 1945.  He continued his service to  his country for thirty years as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Civil Service until his retirement.  Mr. Swanson is survived by two sons, Peter W. Swanson and Daniel Keith Swanson; four daughters, Betty R.Brown, Judy D. Bell, Brenda Thompson, and Patricia Ann Swanson; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and long-time companion and friend Adeen Cantrell.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2001 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy K. Mitchell and Rev. Wayne Hill officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery on G Street.  Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Friends are invited to call on the family 6-8 P.M., Thursday, December 27, 2001, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.  The family expresses special thanks to Adeen Cantrell for her twelve years of faithful care for Mr. Swanson.
