Edward O. "Pop" Wilson, 1905-2002, 97, passed away at Arrowhead Hospital, Glendale, Arizona, on October 24, 2002.  Edward was born in Pensacola on April 6, 1905, and lived there until 1997, when he moved to Arizona to live with his step-daughter Ruth Lesh.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, in which he served as a mine planter during WW II.  He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time on or near the Gulf of Mexico.  He retired from Naval Air Station Pensacola in October 1969.  He was preceded in death in 1994 by his beloved wife Ethel Loretta (Barrow) Wilson.  Pop is survived by his three step children, James L. Hart of Glendale, Arizona, Ethel Nelson of Anchorage, Alaska, and Ruth Lesh, with whom he lived , of Glendale, Arizona.  Also surviving are an aunt, Laura Harris, age 109, of Pensacola, and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, October 31, 2002, at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, with the Rev. David Warr officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery on G Street.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 pm to 2 pm on Thursday.  Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
