Marye C. “Cholly” Clifford, 83, passed away at her home in Cantonment, surrounded by her loving family. She moved to the Pensacola area in 1949 from Holly Springs, Mississippi. She was a long-time teacher for the Escambia County School District.

Mrs. Clifford is survived by her husband, Charles Stephens; son, George W. Boren III; daughter, Charlza (Billy) Burt; a sister, Frances “Emmy” Garner; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marye Jeannette “Janet” Wood.

She was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, Molino Homemakers Club and the Retired Teachers Association.

Friends are cordially invited to join the family for a visitation on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, immediately followed by a service. Pallbearers will be: Andy Martin, Wayne Perry, Cody Wood, Cheyenne Gibbs, Jeffery Jinright and Dane Henson.

Interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Pensacola.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
