Jean Edwards Meenen, 86, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2013. She will be greeted in heaven by those she loved, by late husband of 55 years, Harry Paul Edwards (2002), her husband of 7 years, Henry ""Hank"" Meenen (2012), her son, Michael Earl Edwards (2009), and Richard Meenen's wife, Camille Meenen (2012). 


Always a healer, caregiver, and helper at heart, Jean graduated from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and proceeded to nurture others in their time of need. She is remembered for her kind, but strong disposition - a trait that was required when raising the three ""EDWARDS BOYS"". With Harry, she raised Harry ""Paul"" Edwards, Jr., Michael Earl Edwards (who is now with the Lord), and Terry McDonald Edwards. She left a legacy of seven grandchildren: Terry ""Jason"" Edwards, Garrett Paul Edwards, Daren Leigh Edwards, Callie Jean Freeman, Katherine Michelle Edwards, JD, Senior Airman Laine Whitney Edwards, and Christopher Paul Edwards. As well as two great-grandchildren which she adored, Camden and Addison Edwards, and soon to be three with one on the way for Callie and her husband, Aaron Freeman. 


Jean also gave her love and nurturing to Hank's three adult children that she thought of as her own: Richard and wife Camille (now with the Lord) Meenen, Douglas and wife Bonnie Meenen, and Laurel and husband Donny Neese. 


Jean was cherished by her two daughter-in-laws: Paula G. Edwards, (Paul's wife), and Cathy Edwards (Terry's wife). Lydia Edwards McDonald (mother of Jason and Daren), and her daughter-in-law, Heather Edwards along with other family members, Garret's mother, Nancy Edwards and fiancé, Meredith Hackwith were also dear to Jean's heart and were a big part of her life. 


In place of flowers, Jean requests that donations be made to her church, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 333 Commerce St., Pensacola, FL 32507 and Covenant Hospice Care. 


The Edwards family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home, 124 W. Gregory St., Pensacola, FL. Memorial Services for Jean Edwards Meenen will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
