| Benjamin Chandler Jr. was born November 12, 1859, Tennessee, son of Benjamin and Catherine (Newell) Chandler. He was a lumber inspector, traveling with his work. He is found in the 1900 census living in Portland, Walton County. Benjamin Chandler died January 30, 1908 of typhoid fever. From Journal Friday January 31: “Benjamin Chandler…died at his home 114 West Chase Street yesterday morning…native of Pensacola for 50 years…survivors: sister Miss Emma Chandler; two brothers, John and Charles Chandler, all residents of Pensacola…interment will be in St. John’s cemetery.” He is buried in the Chandler family plot. |
