Bette left her life on Earth to have everlasting life with Jesus Christ on January 20, 2014 at her home. Bette was 66. She was born in St. Louis, MO to Peter(Pete) and Constance(Connie) Gatganis Petros, who preceded her in death. She moved to Pensacola in 1959,and was a graduate of Escambia High School and UWF and received a Masters Degree from Florida State University. Bette worked at the Health Department, West Florida Hospital and retired from Vocational Rehab as a counselor.

She is survived by two Petros cousins, Andree Konstantopoulos(Mike) and Steffie Joiner(Pat); five Gatganis cousins, Lotta, Chris, Barbara, Nick and Gregory; three Godchildren, Joanne Konstantopoulos, Constantine Alexakos and Peter Root; cousins Joanne, Michelle, Gregory(Ashley), Madison, Ben, Mickey, Christine, Bill(Betty) and ex-husband and good friend Victor Phillips along with many dear friends and relatives.

Bette will be remembered by always laughing and her passion for shopping, lunch with her friends and "BLING". Bette saw life through different hues of pinks and yellows. Through God's grace, she did not suffer. Come home now, Daughter, we are waiting for you. Our cardinal will be your escort. Your candle on Earth is out now, but will be lit again in heaven. Sleep now, dear cousin, angels are all around you.

The family thanks Donna, Georgia, Tina, Cheryl and Emerald Coast who saw her through her last months.

The Visitation and funeral will be on Friday, Jan. 24th at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation is from 12:00 noon to 12:45, Trisagion and funeral service at 1:00 followed by the grave side service at St. John's Cemetery. Pall Bearers are Giles Brown, Mike Konstantopoulos, Bill Parliaris, Victor Phillips, Sava Varazo and Andy Watson. All friends are then invited to the Church hall for lunch. Those who wish may either send flowers or make a contribution to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
