Occie Clubbs was born April 14, 1888, daughter of Alexander V. and Katherine (Williams) Clubbs. Miss Occie Clubbs was a teacher and later appointed principal of Agnes McReynolds School, which she held for 24 years. She retired after 48 years of serving the Escambia County School system. Occie was educated in local schools, receiving her master's degree from the University of Florida. She attended the University of Virginia and the University of Chicago where she received her PhD degree. Miss Occie Clubbs died December 11, 1971, buried next to her parents in the A.V. Clubbs family plot. | |
