Cecil Franklin Wiseman, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.  He was born in Mobile, Alabama on May 8, 1923.  After his father passed away, Cecil’s mother moved the family from Mobile to Pensacola while he was still a young child.

While serving in the U.S. Army, he married his wife, Marjorie Carolyn Hawk. 

After the Army, Cecil and Carolyn returned to Pensacola, and he worked as an electrician for the IBEW union.  While working on an IBEW contracted job at Pensacola Naval Hospital, Cecil accepted a permanent civil service position with the hospital.

During his retirement years, Cecil enjoyed fishing and following the Atlanta Braves and the New Orleans Saints.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Cora (Carroll) Wiseman and his sister:  Hazel Boyden.

Left to cherish Cecil’s memory are his wife of nearly 62 years:  Carolyn Wiseman; his children:  Gail (Jerry) Ringo of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Gary Franklin Wiseman and Glen Frederick Wiseman, both of Pensacola, Florida; his brother: Herbert “Buck” (Allie Mae) Wiseman as well As special nephews and nieces. 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery.  Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Cecil was a devoted husband and father and had an incredible sense of humor.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
