Glen Frederick Wiseman, 63, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023. He was born in Pensacola, FL on
February 20, 1960, to the late Cecil Franklin Wiseman and Marjorie Carolyn Hawk Wiseman.
Glen graduated with honors from Escambia High School in 1978. His life-long career was in the grocery
business. He began working for Delchamps while still in high school and, at their closing, he started
working for Winn-Dixie. He worked a total of forty-five years at Winn-Dixie, ending his career as a
pricing manager.
Glen was considered by all who knew him to be a very kindhearted and selfless person who would assist
anyone in need of help, especially the customers of his grocery stores. His most favorite car was his blue
1957 Chevrolet, he enjoyed fishing with his father and buddies, and cooking delicious meals. He was also
a faithful fan of the Miami Dolphins football team, especially their undefeated 1972 season, and he was
a cat lover and enjoyed the company of his most recent cats Axle and Smokey.
Left to cherish Glen’s memory are his sister Gail Lynn Wiseman Ringo; his aunts Marsena Hawk Smith
and Martha Jordan Hazen; and his cousins Angela Greer, Jordan Hazen, Allison Hazen, Michael Smith,
and Henry Janes.
Special acknowledgement and appreciation are extended to his friend Melissa Hamilton, her husband
Jeff, and their daughter Gracie for the compassionate care they provided to Glen as his health waned.
Additionally, personal thanks and appreciation are extended for the loving care provided by the nurses
and staff of Covenant Care located in West Florida Hospital.
A graveside service will be held Friday April 21, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in St. John’s Cemetery in Pensacola,
Florida.
