George J. Cocoris   “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”  II Timothy 4:7.  Rev. George J. Cocoris, a faithful and loyal servant of his lord and savior, Jesus Christ, 74 of  Pensacola, died Saturday, July 6, 1996 at his home.  Rev. Cocoris was a native of Birmingham, AL and had resided in Pensacola most of his life.  He was a retired evangelist and had retired from the Myrtle Grove Elementary School after 20 years of teaching.  Rev. Cocoris was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific.  Rev. Cocoris is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Maxine Cocoris of Pensacola; a sister and brother-in-law, Venetia and Angy James of San Diego, CA; a sister, Catherine Yonke of Pensacola; nieces and nephews, John Cocoris, Nicholas and Lisa Cocoris, Debbie Cocoris, Katina Cocoris, Mike James, Scott and Pan Kvandall, John James, Nick and  Linda  Yonke, Mike and Vanessa Yonke, Ronnie and Venetia Morris; several  great nieces and nephews and many caring and  loving friends.  Funeral  services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, in the Fisher-Pou Chapel, 27 East Wright Street, with the Rev. Douglas Reid, officiating.  Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  John Cocoris, Nicholas Cocoris, Nick Yonke, Mike Yonke, Ronnie Morris and Richard George.  Fisher-Pou Funeral Services , 27 East Wright Street, is in charge of arrangements.
