Jay Long Hall was born March 28, 1907. He retired a Colonel, U.S. Army, and veteran of WWII. Jay L. Hall married Margaret Hyer. Captain Jay Long Hall died April 8, 1970. From Journal Friday April 10: " Capt. Jay Long Hall, 63, a former resident...and training officer for the Florida Highway Patrol, died Wednesday in a Tallahassee hospital...resident in Tallahassee since 1933. The FHP Hall Training Building in the state capital was named in his honor...veteran WWII...survivors: widow Mrs. Margaret H. Hall of Tallahassee; daughter Mrs. H.C. Summitt Jr. of Tennessee; two sisters: Mrs. Charles Abbott of Pensacola and Mrs. Charles Gowan of Georgia...Fisher-Pou directing." He is buried next to his wife in the J.W. Hyer family plot.
