Walker Anderson was born ca1801 in Virginia. Other research showed he was the son of Daniel Anderson and his wife Mary Reade Cameron, telling us why the name Cameron shows up in children names. Walker married Phoebe, maiden name unknown. Walker and Phoebe Anderson are found in the 1850 Escambia County census with 10 children. Walker Anderson died January 18, 1857, at age 55 years. His stone reads 'fell asleep in Christ'. Widow Phoebe Anderson is listed in the 1860 census with seven children and daughter-in-law. The known children of Walker and Phoebe Anderson were Cameron (b.ca1824 NC), Julia H. (b.ca1828 NC), Jeanie Cameron (1831-1891 NC.; married Wm H. Davison; buried #1-9), Edward E. (b.ca1834 NC), Walker Jr. (b.ca1835 NC), Virginia D. (b.ca1839 FL), Rosalind R. (b.ca1842 FL), Duncan C. (b.ca1844 FL), Mildred (b.ca1847 FL), and Halcott C. (1850-1905 FL). Daughter Jeanie C. Davison's tombstone says she was born in Lochiel, Hillsberg, North Carolina. Walker Anderson and his wife Phoebe are listed on the monument in the Anderson plot. Also in family plot are Mildred Devereaux Anderson, Edward D. Anderson, May Anderson Brown; tall monument: Phoebe R. Anderson, Walker Anderson, Halcott C. Anderson, Francis Hawks, Ravenscroft Hawk, Mary Hawk, James Otey Hawks, Frances Hawks, and three Anderson infants: Robert Lee, Roy, Douglas Cameron.
