Rowena Elizabeth Crane, beloved daughter of deceased Willie Elizabeth Bloodworth and Robert P. Crane was born on September 4, 1927. She united with Allen Chapel AME Church at an early age.

She attended Escambia County Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High. Her college studies were completed at Wilberforce College in Ohio. 

Her professional career in education spanned over 50 years of service including teaching duties at Washington Junior High, Washington Senior High and Pensacola High Schools.

Rowena was a dedicated and loyal member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and supported its many community involvement activities until her death.

Rowena enjoyed traveling although her preferred mode of transportation was railways. Her passion for shopping was evidenced in purchases from the most exquisite stores in America.

She will be truly missed by her family, friends and sorors. She slept peacefully away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, with family by her side.

The cousins left to mourn her passing are Ellis Crane, Jr. and Michael Crane of California; Toni Crane Williams (Kalvin) of Rosharon, TX; dedicated and loving caregiver Lydia Breaux-Davis (James) of Pensacola; Santa Breaux of Boca Raton, FL; Madeline Breaux Johnson (Aldon) of Wetumpka, AL; Anita Cormier (Cliven) of Pensacola; Raymond Breaux (Deloris) of Albany, GA; Cecilia Smith (Gregory) of Wichita, KS; and Claudia Breaux of Pensacola.

The family wishes to acknowledge the faithful and devoted services of those who assisted her in her convalescence: Geraldine Edler, Yolanda Costin, Raven Breaux, Pamela Johnston, Annette Cormier and Kiera Tanner.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Joe Morris Funeral Home Chapel. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Joe Morris Funeral Home Chapel.
