Emmalyn "Em" Traylor Owens, 70, passed at Sandy Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Milton, FL April 19, 2017. Em was the daughter of Cephas Carl Traylor and Betty Eubanks Traylor, born 1947 in Marianna, FL.

Em was an Elementary Education graduate (1970) of The University of West Florida. She taught at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City in the fall of 1970, later relocated to Pensacola to be married on January 1, 1971 to Charles Clifton "Clif" Owens II and began teaching second grade at West Pensacola Elementary on January 4, 1971. She resigned in 1985 to focus on raising her two daughters. She loved singing in the Choir at Cokesbury United Methodist Church and shared God's LOVE through Music for over 35 years. She volunteered in the Church Office for many years. She loved infants and kept many young Pastors' children for brief periods.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cephas Carl Traylor, of Bristol FL. She is survived by her spouse, Charles Clifton "Clif" Owens II and two daughters, Kimberly K. Caputo (John) and a granddaughter, Lyndsey E. Caputo of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, and Karen N. Johnson (Dale) and a grandson, Nathanael Christian Johnson, of Pace, FL. She is also survived by her mother, Betty E. Traylor of Bristol, FL and her two brothers, Cephas Carl Traylor (Nancy) of Lynn Haven, FL and Robert Louis Traylor (Jane) of Jacksonville, FL.

Visitation will be held 12:00noon until the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 1:00pm Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 9th Ave. Campus, with Cokesbury's Pastors participating. Em was a very active member of Cokesbury from 1979 thru 2014. She was a member of Olive Baptist Church. A private family graveside service will follow her services.

Honorary pallbearers include, Judy Baum, Bob Baum, Irv English, Shirley Bean, Phil Igney, Sandy Reid, Sharon Springer, Clay Springer, Pat Niesen, Carol Johnson, Dr. John Bray, Dr. Donald Dewey, and Dr. M. Steven Moehle.
