Pensacola - Vera Kearns Patterson, formerly of Mobile, Alabama passed peacefully at 103 years in Pensacola, Fl. She was lovingly tended by her daughter and family. 

Vera was the only daughter of Robert J. Kearns, Sr. a businessman of Mobile; her mother, Hilda (Kearns). Preceding her in death: two brothers; Robert Jr.(w, Zoe) & (2 sons..living]: Elmo Kearns, (w. Dorothy); (4 sons living). 

Vera was the wife of Richard E. Patterson for 63 years; widowed in 1996. He was the son of G.V. Patterson, owner of the Mahogany Lumber Co. in Pensacola in the 20's and 30's. 

In the immediate family, Vera was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Robin Alida Jarratt, and her son, Gorrell. 

She is survived by her eldest son, R. Frazier, (W. Paula) ; one son & 2 daughters: Daughter, Vera Callaghan( Pensacola) &, Ret'd Maj.Chas. Callaghan; 5 children: Son, Dean, 2 children, (w Mary Ellen); Son, Michael Patterson, ( w Deirdra). 

Vera was devotedly committed to her Catholic Faith all her life. She remained active and dedicated to her country and community. Her family was her joy and her friends an extension of that joy. 

With the loss of her Pensacola home in hurricane Ivan, Vera moved to Lillian, Al; St. Joseph's her parish. 

A private memorial mass was concelebrated by Rev Tom Koyical and Geo Thekka, at St. Jude Thaddeus Church in Cantonment, Florida. 

Interment will be at St. John's cemetery, G St., in Pensacola, Florida.
