Ruby Summerlin Cooper-Blackmon, 93, of Pensacola, FL died Satuday, April 30, 1994, in Pensacola. Mrs. Cooper-Blackmon was a native of Pollard, AL and had resided in Pensacola, FL most of her life. She was the oldest of the eight children of Ida and Albert Summerlin. She was also the school teacher at Bagdad from 1920 to 1923. She was married and had one son, George H. Cooper, who passed away in 1989. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Ina Poster and Charlie; brother, Norman Summerlin; very close niece and nephew, Petsy and Dan Lowery; nieces, Pan Hinesley and Paula Thomas; and many more nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the St. John's Cemetery with the McNeil-Keyes Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Terry Summerlin, Al Summerlin, Albert Locke, Danny Lowery, Johnny Lowery and Dean Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Lowery, Roy Tolbert, James Tolbert, Buddy Nelson, Roy Thomas, Rusty Lowery and Gene Boyette. |
