POWELL, Kenneth passed peacefully on July 31, 2019, at the age of 95, in Tarpon Springs, FL. He was born on May 4, 1924 in Spuds (Hastings), Florida. Ken was predeceased by his cherished wife of 68 years, Una, and his oldest beloved daughter, Cynthia Smith (James). He is survived by three daughters, Susan Powell, Beverly Griffiths, and Catherine Winter (Roger); three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and an abundance of friends . Ken attended FSU in Tallahassee the first year it opened its doors to GI's returning from the war. He graduated with a BA in business and there he met his lovely bride, Una; both graduates of FSU and loyal alumni to the end. Starting out in sales and raising a family, he worked his way into the oil business with various companies, until he owned his own company in St. Petersburg. A member at Cypress Run Golf Club for decades, they also found a summer home in Newland, NC, at Mount Glen Country Club. Services will be held on August 17 at 11 am, at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Dr., Trinity, FL.
