Magdalene Varsamas Liollio fell asleep in Christ on Friday July 3rd, 2015 at West Florida Hospital she was 86 years old.

Born October 28th, 1928 in Helena, Arkansas to Andrea and Gus Varsamas she was the first of three daughters. Her father worked with the railroad company until he moved to Clarksdale to open the City Cafe. She was raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi with her sisters Deomi and Theodora and remained there and helped with the family business until she met her future husband John Liollio.

The two were married in August 1945 and were blessed with two children Andrea and Paul. In 1955 the family moved from Clarksdale to Pensacola, Florida where Magdalene remained to this day.

Mr. & Mrs. Liollio owned and operated the once popular Liollio's Steak House on Garden Street where many of the locals loved to come by and visit with "Ms. Margaret" as she was affectionately known to the public. Small in stature at only 4' 11" she had a big heart as she greeted every guest with her loving warmth and magnetic smile.

After she retired she remained living in the Panhandle with her family and continued to serve the Greek Orthodox faith community which she loved dearly. She served in the Daughters of Penelope and Philoptochos Society helping raise money to fund various efforts sponsored by the church.

She is survived by her son Paul Liollio and his wife, Mary Rumore Liollio of Birmingham, Alabama; Son -in-law John Georgiades in Pensacola; Grandchildren Christina Marie Liollio, Meg Georgiades and Dimitri Georgiades and daughter-in-law Jennifer Boudreaux Georgiades DMD; and Great-grandchildren John and Dean Georgiades all of Pensacola, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Liollio, and daughter Andrea Liollio Georgiades.

She will be greatly missed.

There was a visitation Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home. Services were on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Father Matthew Carter will be officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery.
