Gerald Click Schreck, “Click”, age 83, Son of Paul Schreck Sr. and Marjorie Purdy Schreck, “Madge”. Click was born on March 8, 1939 in Pensacola, Florida. He went to be with our Lord on April 2, 2022, while at Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola, Florida.
Click Schreck was born into a family of sailors and sailmakers, and he was very well known within the yachting community for his sailing abilities and accomplishments. During his lifetime, he has produced world class racing sails and still holds the world record in Southern Ocean Racing Circuit (S.O.R.C.). Click won the World Cup sailing in Denmark and in Cork Kingston, Canada. His biggest accomplishment was winning a Gold Medal for sailing in the 1968 Summer Olympic Games. Some would say his biggest accomplishment was his children. Click loved his family and was a much loved brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He also loved to hunt, fish, airboat, travel, and hang out with friends.
Click is survived by his daughters, Linda Schreck, Carla Villar and husband William Villar, Paula Burchfield and husband Les Burchfield, Ramona Johnson and husband Harvey Johnson, and his son Click Schreck Jr. and wife Annelie Schreck. He is also survived by several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Click is predeceased by his first wife, Judith Ann Kavan. Click will be missed by all.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
