Magdalene Geeker Felts, age 78, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on January 23, 2023.

Maggie was born on March 11, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida. She graduated from Pensacola Technical High School in 1962. She married the love of her life, Billy Felts, on June 9, 1962. She worked at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church for over 40 years as church secretary. She also worked for Attorney Jill Satterwhite for 3 years before retiring. She loved to crochet, until old man arthritis took away her ability to do so. She also loved to read, go to the casino, and watch NASCAR (her favorites were Dale Sr., Dale Jr., and Kyle Busch).

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billy Felts in 2013, her parents, Steve and Lula Geeker, her father and mother-in-law, Cecil and Mabel Felts, her sisters Anne Geeker McNeal, Rose Thames, and Nina Geeker Dees, her sisters-in-law Lel Geeker and Iva Nell Wilson, her brothers-in-law Ernest Thames and Jimmy Dees, her nephew Paul Wilson, and a special cousin Chris Souza.

Maggie is survived by her brother Nick Geeker, her Godchildren John Dees, Robert Dees, and Carissa Walsingham. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Although Billy and Maggie were never blessed with children, they had many pets over the years. They were their children and were missed terribly when they passed away. There were their dogs: Duchess, Princess, PP, Lady, Freckles, and Stetson; their cat: Mama (which belonged to Maggie’s mother), their stray cats: Big Boy, Big Red, Boots and Wolfie. And then there was Maggie’s cat, Gus, who wandered into her home and heart and for 3 ½ years gave her love, laughter, happiness, and companionship, all for the price of a can of cat food. Now Billy and Maggie have joined hands again and, with their beloved pets, will cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

Active pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be held at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Trisagion Service at 6:30 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on January 27, 2022, at 10:00AM with Reverend Protopresbyter Father John A. Kalantzis officiating.

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
