She was the beloved wife of John Thomas Stanton Jr. John and Joan were married on the 9th of March, 1956. Joan exemplified the roles of wife, mother, and friend. She was devoted to her beloved husband, her family, her church, her community and served them faithfully throughout her lifetime. She worked for many years as a Teacher's Aide for the Escambia County School Board. Her strong faith was characterized by her service to others and her commitment to the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and later in her supportive service of The Restoration Group. Her great love of music was shared with all as she played the organ for her church congregation and taught piano lessons. One of the greatest joys in her life, was family and she loved every opportunity to gather together. Her dedication and support of family was manifest in the many community, sporting, and scouting activities she attended with her children and grandchildren.
