Benjamin A. Davis was born January 9, 1859. He was the founder of B.A. Davis Marble Works. Growing up in Pensacola, everyone knew about monuments, tables and dresser tops and so many things made of marble by Mr. Davis’ shop. Many of the tombstone in St. John’s Cemetery were from his shop. Benjamin A. Davis married Lucy A. Perry. Benjamin and Lucy Davis were the parents of five known children: Alfred, Ida, Robert, Henry and William Davis. Benjamin A. Davis died March 25, 1937, buried next to his wife Lucy A. Davis, Alfred Davis and his wife Carrie Belle Davis (one stone), Ida Lee Davis, Robert B. Davis, H. Frank Davis, Wm Perry Davis, and Amelia Anna Davis. Lot has large Davis stone.
