John Nepp Day was born April 11, 1875 in Zanesville, Ohio. From funeral records, his father was Volney Day and mother Mary C. Nepp. John Day came to Pensacola in 1903, with the railroad company, and retired as a real estate broker. A veteran of the Spanish-American War, John Day was a second Lieutenant in Company F, 3rd Regiment of the Tennessee Volunteers Infantry. From Escambia County marriage records, John Day was married twice. First to Mary Wilson. They had a daughter Emily Day. His second marriage was to Anna Kirk. John and Anna day were the parents of two surviving sons: John Kirk Day (1908-1946) and Volney K. Day. John Napp Day died August 11, 1948, buried next to his first wife Mary Wilson Day and their daughter Emily, his second wife Anna Kirk Day, infant child of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Wilson, and infant child of Mr. And Mrs. F.L. Cook.
