Edward James Elliott was born in Maryland, Oct. 18, 1860.  He and wife, Georgia May Creighton Elliott, moved first to Jacksonwille about 1885.  There he wrote Elliott's Encyclopedia (1889), a gazetteer and travel log of Florida.  Elliott , his wife, and daughter moved to Pensacola in 1888.  His young wife died in 1893.  Elliott sold naval stores between Pensacola and Camp Walton, sometimes taking his daughter, Neita, with him on the sailing ship.  Elliott married Lilly Eastman Callaghan in 1905.  He worked with the Morgan Bros., later the Pensacola Market from 1903 until retirement in 1924.  He died Dec. 24, 1937.

Edward Elliott had one child, Neita Mae Elliott Wright, buried in the family plot.  May Elliott is buried with him.  His second wife Lilly is buried in her family plot in St. Michael's Cemetery.
