Nathan L. Everitt was born November 8, 1823 in New Jersey. He was an engineer, coming to Pensacola after the war. Nathan with his wife Annie (b.ca1821 N.J.), and seven children are listed in the 1870 census of Escambia County. Their known children were: Edward (b.ca1848 N.Y.), Gorham F. (1849-1891), Mary Ann (b.ca1852 N.J.), Jemima (1853 N.J.-1912; married George W. Parazine; both buried at Roberts Cemetery), John (1856 VA-1931), Mahala (1858 VA-1939; married Jacob J. Whitwell; buried 2-18), and Walter Everitt (b.ca1864 LA). Wife Annie must have died for on April 26, 1877 he married Mrs. Mary A. Williams (b.ca1836 AL). Listed in the 1880 census with Nathan and Mary Everitt is Charles Williams (b.ca1874 AL; son of Mary Williams), and their son Nathan Everett (b.ca1878 FL). Nathan L. Everitt died September 13, 1895, buried in the Everitt family plot next to son John S. Everitt, son Gorham F. Everitt and his wife Phoebe, Millie N. Everitt, James Church and his wife Damie Church, Millie Nichols, Effie Everitt Westmark. No info on wife Mary A. (Williams) Everitt and her death.
