| Aaron Willis Godwin was born January 14, 1902, Alabama. His wife was Wilhelmina C. (maiden name unknown). They were the parents of three known children: Mina (Louise), Partia and sons Willie, Melvin and Roy Godwin. Aaron Godwin died July9, 1985. From Journal Wednesday July 10: "Aaron W. Godwin, 83, died Tuesday...native of Alabama but made his home in Pensacola for many years...retired civil service in Jacksonville...survivors: two daughters: Mina Godwin of Pensacola and Portio Carpenter of Alabama; three sons: Willis G. of S.C., Melvin E. of Tampa, and Roy E. Godwin of Missouri; brother Arlow Godwin of Tallahassee; six grandchildren... Waters & Hibbert in charge." He is buried next to his wife Wilhelmina, and daughter Mina Louise Godwin.
