William Firestone Baars, 66, died Thursday morning in Perdido Key.  Mr. Baars was a native of Hendersonville, NC and had resided in Holland since 1956.  He was a former resident of Pensacola.  He served bravely in World War II and received the Purple Heart.  Survivors include his wife, Josje G. Baars of Holland; a daughter and her three children, Pamela Susan Baars of France; his mother, Mary Firestone Baars of Pensacola; a brother and sister-in-law, Theo and Marge Baars, Jr., of Pensacola; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Johnson, three nephews; three nieces; Betty Baars and her five children; and her ten grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m., Saturday in Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Fr. Bob Graves officiating.  Mr. Baars will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery with Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel directing.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Florida.  Active pallbearers will be: Spencer Swanson, Don Pope, Craig Pope, Brent Pope, Theo D. Baars III, and Bryan T. Baars.
