Faye Mayes was born October 23, 1925, daughter of Howard and Lewey Mayes. Faye Mayes Baker died September 19, 1994. From Journal Thursday September 22: "Faye Mayes Baker, 68, died Monday...life long resident...retired from the Escambia County Comptroller's office after 49 years of service...member of the Gadsden Street United Methodist Chudrch...survivors: son Keith Mayes Baker; daughter Lewey Karen Baker; brother Howard Lee Mayes Jr...."  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Roberts and Paul Mathison officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in the Frank Johnson family plot.  Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
