Capt. George W. Adams, Sr., 86, of Pensacola died Saturday, September 4, 1994 in a local hospital.  Capt. Adams lived in Pensacola most of his life.  He was the founder and original owner of the Pensacola Yacht Basin.  He was a member of the Warrington Presbyterian Church.  After his retirement, he was an employee of the Pensacola News Journal for 15 years in the circulation department.  Survivors include his wife, Joanne Adams of Pensacola; three sons, George W. "Bill" Adams of Lookout Mountain, TN, Ronald Adams of Mount Dora and Richard D. Adams of Ann Arbor, MI; one daughter, Deborah Joyner of Largo; one sister, Elsie Crane of Lakeport; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 1994 in St. John's Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Hornick,  Pastor of Warrington Presbyterian Church officiating.
