Caroline Carter was born December 27, 1861 in Mississippi. She married John Lomax Bell, and the parents of ten known children. Caroline was also a teacher. Caroline Carter Bell died January 6, 1959. From Journal Thursday January 8: “Mrs. Carolina Carter Bell, 91, died Tuesday at her home, 211 North H Street…widow of John Lomax Bell; survivors: two daughters, Mrs. Rosanna Bell Flemings and Mrs. Louisa Bell Russell; five sons: Carter L., Jesse A., Franklin E., Lawrence A. and Major Gen. Raymond E. Bell…Fisher-Pou in charge.” She is buried next to her husband John L. Bell. Their stones say “Father” and “Mother”.
