MORENO DESCENDANT SUCCUMBS AT 88  Funeral services will be held today for Elizabeth Moreno, the last descendant to bear the name of the Pensacola pioneer family of Don Francisco Moreno.  She died Sunday in a local nursing home.  Miss Moreno, 88, of 623 N. Barcelona Street. was a great-granddaughter of Don Francisco Moreno, Consul General of Spain during the War Between the States.  She was the daughter of the late Scaritt Moreno, a prominent lumberman at the turn of the centurty and the late Susie Roberts Moreno, daughter of one of the partners of the historic E. E. Simpson & Company of Bagdad.  During the 1971 Pensacola Sesquincentennial, Miss Moreno was of the 18 individuals presented the Andrew Jackson medal, in recognition of family roots to the time when Florida was transferred from Spain to the United States.  Miss Moreno, as accomplished pianist, performed on WCOA radio station's first day of broadcasting in 1926 and played classical music as a regular part of the station's early programing.  The lifelong Pensacola resident taught music for more than half a century, entertained service men at the local U.S.O. during World War I and World War II, and performed as a guest artist with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra.  A member of Christ Episcopal Church throughout her life, Miss Moreno taught Sunday School for three decades and was an honorary member of the Pensacola Music Study Club.  Miss Moreno is survived by her sister, Clare Moreno Sprague, of Coronada, Calif., four nephews, Lt. Cmdr. Thomas W. Saltmarsh, Jr. of Pensacola, Cmdr. Earnest O. Saltmarsh of Jacksonville, Donald Moreno Carpenter of San Francisco, Calif., and Capt. Daniel Moreno Carpenter of Bremerton, Wash., and a niece, Susan E. Saltmarsh of Pensacola.  The Rev. Harold M. Reece will officiate at 10 a.m. graveside services in St. John's Cemetery.
