David Hampton Robinson died May 7, 2000 in a local hospital following a very brief illness.  Mr. Robinson was a native Pensacolian and a retiree of Pensacola Naval Air Station.  He was a graduate of B.T. Washington High School Class of 1935 and was active with the Alumni association.  He was also an alumni of Edward Waters College and an ardent jazz fan.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Robinson Hanks; his second wife, Aristine Whitiny Robinson; and his brother, Wesley (Fess) Robinson, March 12, 2000.  Survivors include a devoted sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Claude Ramsey of Jacksonville, Fla; four daughters, Mary E. Sanders, Lydia Moore, Diane Robinson and Iris Bright; three sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Lavoga Robinson and Harold Robinson; step-son, Charles Campbell; devoted grandson and care giver, Mustafaa Muhammed, brother-in-law, Charles (Florence) Whiting; a nephew, Douglas Campbell; as well as numerous other relatives and devoted friends, including Gertrude Taylor, Benjamin Dudley, Neal Carter, Bertha Miles, Ervin Miles, Evelyn Brown and Dea Robin McDaniel.  Services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2000 at Talbot Chapel, AME Zion Church with the Rev. Floyd Walker, pastor of Mt. Moriah AME Zion Church, officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.  Benboe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
