Daniel Hughes Shepard was born July 5, 1878, son of Wm O.H. Shepard and Vandella S. Shepard.  Fisher-Pou records say he was born in Marietta, Georgia, with census saying in Florida.  In the 1880 census of Escambia County, under Daniel and Martha Wilkinson is a nephew Daniel Shepard, age 3, born in Florida. Also listed is his sister Annie Shepard, born ca1870.  In Escambia County on June 15, 1904 in the Methodist Church, Daniel H. Shepard married Florida Cook.  In the 1920 census, living with Daniel and Florida Shepard are Vandella T. Shepard (age 70, born in Georgia, his mother), and Elizabeth Cook (age 52, born in AL, sister-in-law).  Daniel Hughes Shepard died December 22, 1943.  From his obituary: “Daniel Hughes Shepard, 65, died Tuesday at his home 2210 East Mallory street…burial in St. John’s cemetery with Fisher-Pou directing.  Mr. Shepard was secretary and treasurer of the Title Guarantee company…active in real estate titles for the past quarter of a century.  He was a past commodore of the yacht club and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution…He was fond of marine sports, especially yachting, and sailed as a member of the winning Pensacola crew in the first Lipton regatta back in 1920...survivors: wife Mrs. Florida Cook Shepard; three nieces, Mrs. Van Jones and Mrs. George Van Deurs both of Pensacola and Mrs. L.A. Moebus, DeLand.”  He is buried next to his wife in the N.B. Cook family plot.  On the stones of Daniel Hughes Shepard and Florida Cook Shepard, there is no information.  I found from city directory, Florida death records and Fisher-Pou records, the information.
