John Sherman, 63, of 124 East Church street, died yesterday at his home.  Mr. Sherman had been in the employ of the city for the past 35 years, and at the time of his death was the cook at the city jail.  He is survived by his wife and three small children.  Funeral services will be held today at 8:45 a.d. at the home and at 9 a.m. from St. Michaels church, with the Rev. Earle LeBaron officiating.  Internment will be in St. John's cemetery, with Pou Funeral Service in charge.  Pallbearers will be F.E. Commyns, L.M. Mayne, J.C. Hammond, J. Walker, W. Maloney, and R.
