Miss Kopman first started teaching in New Orleans.  Annie and Alex Suter were the parents of three daughters: Maud, Marion (married Knowles Hyer) and Ethel Suter.  After the death of her husband Alexander Suter, widow Annie, with her three daughters, moved to Pensacola in 1887.  Mrs. Suter taught here for 30 years, retiring as principal of N.B. Cook Elementary.  At the end of her service, the school board named the A.K. Suter Elementary school in East Pensacola Heights in her honor.  Mrs. Annie K. Suter died June 3, 1927, buried next to her daughters.  The Suters were members of the Christ Episcopal Church.
