He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving in US Navy during WWI. After retirement, Joseph Daniel Todd returned to Pensacola where he died on March 12, 1973. His obituary is listed in the Journal on Wednesday, March 14. He was the father of Frank Todd. He is buried in the Todd plot next to his sister Alfie Todd Henderson, and niece Dorothy G. H.
