Jack Buford Wilkerson, known as Buford, was born July 25, 1884, son of Samuel and Amanda Wilkerson (buried 2-16). Jack Wilkerson married Mary Bridges. They were the parents of three known children: Anne Louise (married Hollis Willis), Edward Cameron and J.B. Wilkerson. After wife Mary died in 1929, Jack Buford Wilkerson married Zelma Bevel, known as “Baby” . Jack Buford Wilkerson died October 20, 1941, at age 57. From Fisher-Pou records: “J. Buford Wilkerson died…Inspector for Florida State Department Agriculture…survivors: wife Zelma Wilkerson, daughter Mrs. Anna Louise Willis, sons Edward Cameron Wilkerson and J.B. Wilkerson; two grandchildren; brother S.S. Wilkerson of KY; five sisters: Mrs. J.H. Pledges of Tallahassee, Mrs. Ray McGraw of Miami, Mrs. S.E. Ingraham of Pensacola, Mrs. E.H. Dennard of Jacksonville, and Mrs. W.L. Richardson of Washington D.C…burial in St. John’s”. Also records say his father was Samuel J. Wilkerson and mother Anna Louisa Gilbin. Jack Buford Wilkerson is buried next to his second wife Baby Wilkerson (one stone), first wife Mary Bridges Wilkerson, daughter Anna Louise Willis and her husband Hollis Edward Willis (one stone).
