Graduated from Pensacola High School in 1936, known as "Ce".  He graduated from University of Florida in 1942, majoring in marketing and business administration.  On March 20, 1942, he married former PHS classmate Maria "Mary" Kastanakis (1938 grad) and joined the U.S. Army.  Following his commissioning, he was sent to Ft. Sill, OK, where he was trained in artillery.  Afterwards, he was sent to Ft. Benning, GA for parachute training and assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division.  Later he was transferred to the 101st Airborne.  While with the 101st, he was quartered in England in late 1943, where they trained for D-Day.  His division's artillery landed away from him and his unit was relieved in November 1944.  While resting in December, the 101st was activated to relieve Bastogne.  His direct superior, Gen. Anthony C. McAuliffe commanded the Bastogne defenses, and Wilson was there when McAuliffe replied, "Nuts!" when the Germans requested the garrison's surrender.  Wilson departed the army in 1946 and returned home to Mary at 209 Corry Dr. in Warrington.  He remarried in 1955 to Dana Marie Burke from Gonzalez, FL.  He retired from his business, Wilson Pump Co., before dying in 1992.  He was survived by two sons and seven daughters.
