Ernest Elmer Biebighauser 1914-2001, age 87, of Pensacola, died Thursday, December 27, 2001.  Mr. Biebighauser was a native of Pensacola and had resided most of his life here.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.  He attended local schools and graduated from Pensacola High School.  He received his associates degree from St. Bernard's College of Cullman, AL.  Mr. Biebighauser served his country in the  U.S. Navy during WWII.  Following the war he received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.  He was an editor with the Smithsonian Institute Press from 1953-1975.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years. Lucile Shows Biebighauser.  Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Victor Kris and Elizabeth Hurst Biebighauser; grandchildren, John Hunter Biebighauser and Julia Perrin Biebighauser; sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Raymond Mize; sister-in-law, LaRea Shows Bent; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2001 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Bowles celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.  Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 12423, Pensacola, FL 32582, or to a charity of your choice.
