Cyril N. Bryant was the middle child of three children from Mary V. Bryan (later married a McGuire) and an absentee father, James Wesley Bryan.  His older sister was Ella (Richbourg) and younger brother, Curtis.  They both spelled the last differently because of the poor relationship with the father.  Cyril was an engineer for L&N Railroad.  He married Elaine and they had children, two girls and a boy--Sharon, Linda, and David.  He later divorced Elaine.--------From the Pensacola News Journal, January 1996.-------C. N. Bryant, 87, of Pensacola died Tuesday, January 9, 1966 at his daughter's home.  Mr. Bryant was born in Goodway, AL and had resided in Pensacola since 1918.  He retired in 1974 after 31 1/2 years with the Frisco Railroad as an engineer.  After retiring, Mr. Bryant farmed his property in Bellview and was known around town as the "Okra Man".  He was a lifetime member of Escambia Lodge No. 15, F&AM and was a former representative of the Brotherhood of Local Firemen and Enginemen.  Mr. Bryant was a loving father and grandfather and leaves behind a loving and faithful friend of 21 years, Frances Drew of Atmore, AL.  Other survivors include his son, David E. Bryant of Tampa; two daughters, Linda Bryant Jackson of Atlanta and Sharon Bryant Buhler of Pensacola; two grandsons, Brett Bryant Jackson and Benjamin Douglas Jackson of Atlanta; and brother, Curtis Bryan of Pensacola.  The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Steven Parker, his nurse, Judy, the pharmacy staff of Albertson's on Ninth Avenue and Hospice of Northwest Florida for their excellent care, kindness and assistance through a very difficult time.  Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Waters and Hibbert Chapel with the Rev. James D. Kelly officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Gary Peaden, Neil Jordan, Chip Colley, Meyer Jordan, Joe Flowers and Virgil Wyrosdick.  Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Walter Lagergren, Henry Jackson and Smokey  Peaden.  Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday.  Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida or the American Cancer Society, 1-800-227-2345 and request the memorial go to the Brain Tumor Foundation, Inc., in Atlanta.
