Benjamin Lee Fillingim, died Monday, April 17, 2000.  Born in Barrineau Park, Pensacola, FL. March 7, 1915, he was a lifelong resident of Escambia County, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.  For many years he owned and operated a Pure Oil Service Station at Pace and Cervantes; subsequently, he was a Realtor.  He was a member of Gateway Church of Christ, Escambia Lodge 15, Scottish Rite Bodies and the Elks Club.  He was preceded in death by his father, David Fillingim, his mother, Ida Cobb Fillingim, and his wife, Inez Crews Fillingim.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Steven Schang of Pensacola, grandsons, Matthew Bell of Pensacola, Benjamin Lee Bell, wife Lisa, and their children, Benjamin and Andrea, all of Pensacola and David Bell and wife, Carmen of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Davina Lukens and husband, Jake of Richmond, Texas and Hilda Schmitz Eisenhart; brothers, Kimble and Paul Fillingim of Pensacola; nephews, Bill Schmitz of Pensacola, David Fillingim of Gulf Breeze,Robert Fillingim of Augusta, GA, Bill Lukens of  Phoenix, AZ, George Lukens and Steve Lukens of Philadelphia, PA, nieces, Tamara Murphy of Pensacola, Brenda Snipes of Vernal, Utah and Judy Lukens of Houston, TX.  Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matt, Lee and David Bell, nephew, Bill Schmitz and grandnephews, George Schmitz, Jr. and Donald Schmitz.  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2000 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.  Oak Lawn Funerla Home is in charge of arrangements.  A visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
