Dorothy Swanson Gardner, 87, lifetime resident of Pensacola, went to sleep in our Lord Tuesday, July 21, 1998 in Pensacola.  She was a lifelong member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Pensacola.  She retired from N.A.S. Pensacola after 32 years of service.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dot Shepherd in 1997.  Survivors include her two daughters, Connie Newton and Gwen Wells; a brother, Ralph Swanson; a sister, Helen Hughes all of Pensacola.  11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 25, 1998, at Christ Episcopal Church, Pensacola, with the Rev. Robert Graves officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bill Shepherd, Jr., Fred Wells, Jr., Karl Morrison, Jr., Robert Wells, David Wells and Thomas Wells.  Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Hughes and Robert Hughes.  Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.
