Mildred "Millie" Wagoner Sherburne 1912-2002, age 90, of Pensacola died Saturday, September 28, 2002 in Keller, Texas. Millie was born on February 19, 1912 in Lebanon, Indiana where she grew up. She attended the Methodist Episcopal Hospital where she received her registered nurses license in 1937. She moved to Florida in 1951 with her beloved husband of 61 years, Newt. She worked as a nurse and office manager for Dr. Clyde Miller for over twenty years before she retired. After retirement Millie and Newt traveled to several foreign countries and around the U.S. They called Pensacola their home for over 50 years. Survivors include her sister, Wilma McDonald and her husband, Phillip of Milton, Florida; son, Thomas N. Sherburne and his wife Nancy of Falls Church, Virginia with their children, Lisa, Amy and Mark. She was also survived by her daughter, Susan Crittenden and husband, Dan of Keller, Texas and their four children, Sara, Megan, Taylor and Hunter. She was strong, hard working woman with a quick sense of humor and a great soft spot for helpless animals she would often befriend. She had a wonderful and adventurous life. She was fortunate to share 61 years with her loving husband and each year seems to bring more happiness than the past. Burial will be at St. John's Cementery on "G" Street at 11 a.m. November 16, 2002. Everyone is invited to attend at the gravesite. |
